Hello Parents, Students, and Community Members,
Hello Parents, Students, and Community Members,
Welcome to Orange Park Elementary - the Pride of Orange Park! At OPE, we believe all means all. That every student has the capacity to learn and grow alongside each and every adult present in the classroom or on campus. We take pride in having high expectations for our students and, every day, we work collaboratively to increase achievement by providing students with opportunities focused on relevance, rigor, and applicability. We know that when our students leave OPE, they are prepared to succeed and thrive as they move on to the next chapter of life.

At OPE, honesty, integrity, and respect are three core values embedded in every commitment expected of our students. In this way, we will maximize student potential and promote individual responsibility. Our very existence is to prepare life-long learners for success through use of those commitments and by providing experiences that are motivating, challenging, and rewarding for all of our students.

Our very existence is to prepare life-long learners for success through use of those commitments and by providing experiences that are motivating, challenging, and rewarding for all of our students.
But our goal of creating life-long learners with these expectations in mind can hardly be accomplished without your unconditional support. Something as simple as working with your student(s) at home, volunteering at OPE, or serving on the PFA or SAC committees can profoundly impact your students' education and development. There is no doubt that the proverbial journey requires all involved and, in cooperation with OPE and the community at large, we can and will continue to create successful students together. As we embark on the beginning of a new school year, know how much your support matters - that every moment with your student is an opportunity for growth and that we at OPE believe every experience can be positively influential and impactful.

Dear Parents and Community Members,
Dear Parents and Community Members,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Suzanne Herndon. I have had the pleasure to serve as the assistant principal of OPE for the past five years. I love working at OPE because of the amazing parents, students and faculty and staff. Being a Concept School encomasses the idea that we ALL must work together in order for our students to achieve success. Parents work hard to support their children at home by checking homework folders, providing a quiet area for homework to be completed, and by ensuring students are at school on time on a daily basis. Students support teachers by meeting expectations for behavior and academics and by showing up BIG everyday and doing their personal best. Teachers support students by planning engaging lessons, teaching life skills in addition to academic skills, meeting every child at their own level and by maintaining a constant line of communication between school and home. Community members support OPE through donations for students and teachers and by becoming involved with families in the area. This entire network of support is what makes OPE so special.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care. OPE exists to meet the needs of every child who comes through our doors and to make sure each child feels special, safe and loved. It is great to be a part of the OPE family.
